GBPJPY 1HR and 4HR Market Analysis – April 5, 2026

Understanding Price Location Before Execution

One thing I always remind my traders—price location comes first, entries come second.

Right now, GBPJPY is giving us a clean example of how structure and location work together across timeframes. If you don’t respect where price is sitting, you’ll end up chasing candles instead of following a plan.

Let’s break this down the right way.

4 Hour Chart Analysis – Shallow Discount with Buy Potential

GBPJPY 4H chart showing price positioned in shallow discount and holding within the buy zone, indicating potential for bullish setups as long as structure is respected.

On the 4-hour timeframe, price is currently sitting in a shallow discount zone and positioned inside the 4H buy zone.

That alone already shifts the mindset.

We are no longer looking for sells up here. This is where discipline matters.

  • Price has moved down from prior highs
  • We are now below equilibrium (fair market value)
  • Price is holding within the buy zone structure

This tells me one thing:
We should be preparing for buy opportunities—not guessing, not forcing, but waiting.

Now here’s the catch… and this is where most traders mess up.

Just because price is in a buy zone does NOT mean we jump in immediately.

We still need BRACE.

  • Break
  • Retest
  • Confirm Entry

Until that sequence forms, there is no trade—just a setup forming.

1 Hour Chart Analysis – Break Already Occurred

GBPJPY 1H chart showing a confirmed break above the buy zone with price holding in shallow discount, now waiting for a retest and bullish confirmation to complete the BRACE entry.

Now let’s drop down to the 1-hour chart, because this is where things get interesting.

Price has already:

  • Broken above the 1H buy zone
  • Is currently holding in a shallow discount area

That means the first step of BRACE has already happened on this timeframe.

Now we shift into patience mode.

We are watching for:

  1. A pullback (retest toward the zone or structure)
  2. A strong bullish confirmation candle
  3. Then—and only then—we consider execution

Right now, this is NOT a chase situation.

If you missed the initial move, good. That means you’re disciplined enough to wait for the proper entry.

Multi-Timeframe Alignment – What This Really Means

This is where the edge comes in.

  • 4H → Buy bias (discount + buy zone)
  • 1H → Break already happened, waiting for retest

That’s alignment.

And when you get alignment like this, you don’t rush—you position yourself.

Some traders will choose to execute on the 1-hour.
Others will wait for a cleaner 4-hour confirmation.

Both are fine.

Just don’t mix the rules.

Trade Scenarios to Watch

Bullish Scenario (Preferred)

  • 1H pulls back into structure
  • Bullish confirmation candle forms
  • Entry follows BRACE rules
  • Target moves back toward equilibrium and beyond

No Trade Scenario

  • Price continues up with no retest
  • Or price breaks back below structure

If that happens, we simply wait and reassess.

No emotion. No chasing. No exceptions.

Execution Reminder

Whether you choose the 1-hour or the 4-hour timeframe:

  • Follow the same rules
  • Respect price location
  • Let BRACE complete

This is not about being early.
This is about being right.

Final Thoughts

GBPJPY is setting up clean—but it’s not ready yet.

The break has already happened on the 1-hour, and the 4-hour is sitting exactly where we want it—in shallow discount and inside a buy zone.

Now we wait.

Because the traders who wait… are the ones who get paid.
